Exhibition Girls Limited Year in Review 2018

Exhibition Girls Limited have had a positive year with steady growth, new countries, new trade shows and brands in 2018. We have been lucky to retain a number of multinational companies this year and also expanded our promotional staffing focus. From the Gymshark pop up activities in Los Angeles, Paris and Dublin, Adidas retail store activities across the UK and our new client GameStop – the largest games store in the world. We launched our experiential partner agency Experience Staff which specialises in legally employed worldwide promotional staffing for brands. We also continued with our specialised service of exhibition stand hostesses and experienced sales staff for trade shows and exhibitions. We provided large numbers of multi-lingual, educated hostesses and staff for World Travel Market ExCel London, ICE Gaming ExCel London, the Lisbon igaming Affiliate Conference and IBTM Barcelona.

The event and promotional staffing industry has received negative press this year. We feel there is a continued misunderstanding of the role of temporary event staff, exactly who works in this industry and their added value. There needs to be recognition of the 1000s of creatives, dancers, actors, models and students that this industry supplies safe, interesting and fantastic temporary work for. Without engaging promotional staff supporting small businesses stands and welcoming hostesses for international companies we truly believe – the exhibition industry would really be a less positive and successful environment. But there does need to be more protection and responsibility of staff and regulation of this industry. We hope in 2019 that the event industry, venues, organisers and suppliers will take responsibility for the agencies they are letting into their events and recognise the value of legal event staffing. It is highly important that ‘agencies’ look at employment law and take responsibility for the staff they are engaging. We look forward to 2019 with all our staff, clients and customers and a stronger, regulated event staffing industry.
